Our History

Seville is located in the Southwest of Spain. A provincial capital, seat of the government and parliament of the Comunidad Autónoma de Sevilla (Regional Government). It has more than 700,000 inhabitants, nearly half the population of the whole province.

This Spanish city is one of the most important historical centers in Europe. Founded by the Tartesians in 207 B.C., Seville was one of the strongest Roman cities on the Iberia Peninsula. The Arabs had also been in Seville for over eight hundred years and left a lasting mark in the architecture, music, and fine arts of the city.

During the 20th century, Seville became a modern yet historical destination. Seville has held two important international events, Ibero-American Exposition of 1929 and the Universal Exposition of Seville in 1992, also known as Expo ’92. and became a modern yet traditional metropolis.
